We build the systems that don't come with a template.

Opus Incertum is a small technical shop for software engineering, automation, and infrastructure — engaged when the problem doesn't fit a standard package.

What we do

Software Engineering

Full-stack systems, from first prototype to production load. Backends, APIs, tooling — built to be read and maintained, not just shipped.

Automation & Infrastructure

Pipelines, deployment, and the unglamorous plumbing that keeps everything else running — designed to need less of you over time, not more.

Data Acquisition & Curation

Bespoke datasets, sourced and cleaned to spec — including hard-to-procure data for AI and ML training, gathered the way a project actually needs it, not the way it happens to be sold.

Fit, not force

Opus incertum — literally, “irregular work” — is an ancient technique for facing a wall with stones that share no common size or angle. Each one is cut and set until it fits its neighbors so closely the mortar lines all but disappear. No two stones are interchangeable, and none of them go to waste.

We take the same approach to engineering. Every engagement gets shaped around the constraints that are actually there, rather than trimmed down to fit a standard offering.

Every wall starts with one stone
